Horticulture Program

The Bush Tucker garden at the back of the school is a project that has been underway for almost 2 years!! Last year a group of dedicated boys worked hard, and learnt new skills, while putting in the timber framed garden path. Some students are currently taking their skills out of the garden, and onto the iPads and laptops, to research the names of the plants in the garden and their traditional uses. This information will eventually be put onto labels for each plant, so the Bush Tucker Garden is not just a beautiful place to walk, but is educational as well.
In the meantime, work has commenced on the garden behind the library. The boys are currently developing their landscaping skills under the guidance of Mr Liam Wood. Once it is finished, it will be planted-out with the support and knowledge of Mrs Belshaw and Mrs Cronin. Watch this space!
