At Yugumbir State School our approach to behaviour and learning is holistic in nature and takes into account every aspect of each student's development which directly encompasses our school motto, "Each to Succeed".
School wide expectations are based on the 3 Rs of positive behaviour.
- Be respectful
- Be responsible
- Be ready
Our Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students (PDF, 258 KB) aims to create a safe, caring environment for teaching and learning which emphasises the rights and responsibilities of all members of our school community. It reflects our underlying principles, values, beliefs and goals and students are well informed of the expectations regarding their behaviour.
Consequences for unacceptable behaviour range from time-out in the classroom to being referred to a deputy principal who may or may not choose to involve the parents or carer. In extreme circumstances a suspension may be considered by the principal.
Yugumbir also has a social skills and a values program in place, both of which are used as resources for helping students to identify acceptable and appropriate behaviours on a day-to-day basis.
