We are thrilled to announce that champion springboard diver Georgia Sheehan will be attending Yugumbir SS on the 9th of June to talk to our Years 4, 5 and 6 girls about Girls in Sport.
Georgia is one of Australia’s top springboard divers, having won numerous national and international medals.
Her first international success came when she won a Junior World Championship at the age of 14. At the age of 16 she competed in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
In 2018, Georgia competed here on the Gold Coast in our own Commonwealth Games, bringing home gold and silver medals.
This July she will become a 3-time World Championship team member, having represented Australia in 2019 and 2022, having been selected for the team for the 2023 World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan.
Georgia is committed to being a positive role model for young athletes, inspiring them with her dedication, commitment and encouraging attitude.
The talk will commence at 9:15, including taking questions from the students. We can't wait to hear about her inspirational journey.
